Office Assistant 1 (NY HELPS) The purpose of this position is to provide office support to the Social Work Department and EHHS Dean's Office. In support of the Social Work Department, Associate Dean's and all other Dean's Office staff, this position performs various clerical tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and coordination skills, along with the ability to manage files and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Social Work is part of the School of Education, Health, and Human Services which prepares students for successful entry into their chosen profession. We focus on an ethical approach to human well-being and encourage critical thinking and practical application. Core office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Examples of Duties & Responsibilities: Holding primary responsibility for clerical support within Social Work and the EHHS Dean's Office, this position performs a wide range of administrative duties to support daily operations. Responsibilities include assisting with event planning; compiling and generating reports; performing data entry; and completing general clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, managing email correspondence, and answering and directing main office phone calls. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to, supporting calendar management, and coordinating travel arrangements for Assistant/Associate Dean's, as well as supporting departments with grant-funded programs. The position also performs other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth and effective operation of Social Work department and the Dean's Office. For the duration of the NYHELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
