Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Musical Theater Director to join our team for the 2024-2025 season. The Musical Theater Director will be responsible for directing children’s musical theater productions, guiding students ages 5-18 through all aspects of a show, from auditions to the final performance.
Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee all aspects of children’s musical theater productions, including auditions, rehearsals, and performances.
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the theater’s curriculum and standards.
Collaborate with the Stage Manager, choreographer, and other staff to ensure a cohesive and high-quality production.
Teach and guide students in acting, singing, and stage presence, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, rehearsal schedules, and performance details.
Ensure all students are safely picked up after each class and maintain attendance records.
Contribute to student retention efforts and support enrollment campaigns.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and special events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Theater, Performing Arts, Music Education, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of experience directing musical theater productions, particularly with children.
Strong background in vocal training, acting techniques, and stage direction.
Experience in teaching or coaching children in performing arts.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a creative team.
Passion for the arts and a commitment to nurturing young talent.
Schedule and Availability:
Must be available for rehearsals and performances, including some evenings and weekends.
Required to arrive 15 minutes before class starts and stay until all students are safely picked up.
Attendance at all staff meetings, training sessions, and special events is mandatory.

Monthly salary based on experience and class enrollment.
