The role will support airframe and propulsion-integration design through modal, vibration, forced-response, aeroelastic, and test-correlation work. This position will be based onsite at our South Burlington, VT office location, our Raleigh, NC office. Remote candidates may be considered for a hybrid role, with monthly visits to South Burlington, VT for in person work.How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: Develop and maintain mass- and stiffness-representative finite element models for structural dynamics and aeroelastic applicationsPerform modal, harmonic, random-vibration, transient, and base-input analyses for aircraft structures and installed equipmentEvaluate wing, pylon, propulsion, control-surface, and aircraft-system dynamic response and identify governing sensitivitiesConvert analysis results into clear structural, mass-property, damping, isolation, instrumentation, and interface requirementsSupport ground vibration, component vibration, and structural coupling test planning and model correlationWork with Loads, Aeroelasticity, Flight Controls, Propulsion, Stress, Design, Test, and Manufacturing teamsDocument methods, assumptions, uncertainty, results, and design recommendations for technical reviewsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldThree or more years of structural dynamics, vibration, aeroelasticity, finite element analysis, or related test experienceStrong fundamentals in modal analysis, structural dynamics, and finite element methodsExperience with NASTRAN, FEMAP, MATLAB, Python, or comparable engineering toolsAbility to communicate technical results and work effectively across engineering disciplinesMust be a US Person to be considered for the roleAbove and Beyond Qualifications: Aircraft wing, pylon, propulsion-installation, control-surface, flutter, or forced-response experienceExperience supporting ground vibration or component vibration testing and model correlationKnowledge of aircraft certification considerations for structural dynamics or aeroelasticityPhysical Demands and Work Environment: This role requires extended computer work and regular access to office, laboratory, hangar, and test environments. Occasional travel and use of standard personal protective equipment may be required.The wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role. We pay competitively and base compensation on a variety of factors including skills, experience, industry background, and the evolving needs of the role.
