Software EngineerDayton, OH area (hybrid 2-3 days onsite per week)We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support Department of Defense programs in the Dayton, OH area. This role is embedded in cross-functional engineering teams working on software assurance, system integration, and lifecycle support for U.S. Air Force acquisition programs. Candidates with familiarity in DoD airworthiness and acquisition policy will stand out.Education & experience — one of the followingMA or MS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program, plus 12 years of relevant technical experience, with at least 5 years in a DoD environmentorBS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field from an ABET-accredited program; advanced degree preferredRequired qualificationsDemonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in software engineering practices, system integration, and software assuranceStrong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively within cross-functional engineering teamsAdditional desired competenciesExperience supporting Air Force or broader DoD programsKnowledge of life cycle systems engineering (LCSE) and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) compliance requirementsFamiliarity with value stream mapping, performance improvement initiatives (e.g., AFSO21), and technical risk management practices
