Clinical Manager – Sobering & Deflection CenterPortland, ORFull-Time | Behavioral Health Leadership | Community-Based Crisis ServicesAn established behavioral health organization is seeking an independently licensed Clinical Manager to support the launch and ongoing operations of a Sobering and Deflection Center in Portland, Oregon. This program provides immediate support and stabilization for individuals experiencing acute intoxication, substance-related impairment, behavioral health crises, and other community-based needs—while helping divert individuals away from emergency departments and the criminal justice system.This is an opportunity to step into a highly impactful leadership role within an innovative, mission-driven environment focused on harm reduction, recovery, and compassionate care for vulnerable populations.About the RoleThe Clinical Manager will oversee daily clinical operations and provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team supporting individuals in crisis. This role partners closely with nursing staff, behavioral health professionals, peer support specialists, and community agencies to ensure safe, trauma-informed, and person-centered care.The ideal candidate is a strong behavioral health leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys mentoring teams, and is passionate about supporting individuals with substance use and co-occurring behavioral health needs.What You’ll Be DoingProvide clinical and operational oversight for the Sobering and Deflection CenterSupervise and support behavioral health staff, case managers, peer support specialists, and clinical personnelProvide clinical supervision to assigned staff as appropriateEnsure trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered care practicesAssist with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and clinical decision-making in high-acuity situationsPartner with nursing staff, providers, EMS, hospitals, and community organizations to coordinate care and diversion effortsSupport onboarding, coaching, staff development, and ongoing clinical trainingMonitor documentation standards, program compliance, and quality assurance initiativesParticipate in incident review, performance improvement, and operational planningHelp maintain a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for both participants and staffQualificationsMaster’s degree in Behavioral Health, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field requiredActive independent Oregon licensure required (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT)Previous leadership or supervisory experience within behavioral health, substance use treatment, crisis stabilization, or community-based services strongly preferredExperience working with high-acuity behavioral health and substance use populations requiredStrong understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, crisis intervention, and recovery-oriented practicesAbility to lead effectively in fast-paced, evolving clinical environmentsStrong communication, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration skillsWhy This Opportunity Stands OutOpportunity to help shape a newly developing Sobering and Deflection programMission-driven work supporting underserved and vulnerable populationsCollaborative leadership team and supportive clinical environmentStrong long-term growth potential within behavioral health leadershipMeaningful, community-impact focused work every dayBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision, Disability & Life Insurance401(k) with employer matchGenerous PTO packageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Ongoing training and professional development opportunitiesTuition reimbursement opportunities available
