Renewable Operations Coordinator
Job Summary
This position manages the day-to-day operation and maintenance of renewables facilities for Southern Power Company and is responsible for maximizing renewables fleet performance through direct support of SPC's O&M site teams and/or 3 rd party O&M providers.
Responsibilities
Managing contracts with O&M providers for the SPC renewables facilities
Supporting SPC performed O&M strategy for current and future renewables facilities
Proactively managing relationships, equipment issues, and plant outages to understand issues and drive to satisfactory resolution
Providing project management, project budget management, long term maintenance strategies and technical support to O&M site teams
Monitoring site performance and collaborating with performance engineering to utilize operational data to identify and pursue efficiency improvements
Supporting regulatory compliance requirements and informing and preparing the site of any future requirements
Developing status reports and presentations for management and partnership updates
Supporting the SPC Budget Analyst in invoice reconciliation, accruals, and projections
Performing O&M contract development of renewables facilities targeted for acquisition or development by SPC
Working with other SPC departments including but not limited to, Origination & Acquisitions, Accounting, Project Siting, Development and EPC, Commercial Optimization and Trading, Project Analysis and Market Assessment, and Compliance and External Affairs concerning renewable operations
Participating in project teams to assess the operational and financial risks associated with renewables projects
Understanding plant operation details and handling communication of updates and resolutions to management, internal customers, and peer groups
This position is primarily located in Birmingham, AL but can also be located at any SPC owned renewables facility. Overnight travel is required to renewables facilities located in various parts of the United States including, but not limited to West Virginia, Texas, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Maine, Washington, and Kansas.
Pursuant to California law, the reasonable wage expectation for this position is $76,765 - $145,934 annually.
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or five years or more of relevant experience required.

Photovoltaic, renewables or fossil fuel power generation

Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external clients
Autonomous, self-starter with the ability to prioritize and organize work to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
Ability to interpret operational data preferred – SQL, PI or OIS experience a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent project management skills that lead to desired results
Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills required
Strong oral and written communications skills required
Strong understanding of expense and capital budgeting
