An established manufacturer serving the aerospace industry is seeking an experienced Aerospace Operations Manager to lead operations at a large-scale manufacturing facility in Mojave, California. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving operational performance, safety, quality, and continuous improvement across a complex production environment.Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will lead a large manufacturing team while ensuring production targets, customer commitments, and regulatory requirements are consistently achieved.ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day manufacturing operations across mixing, blending, filling, and packaging processes.Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand and delivery schedules.Monitor and improve key operational metrics including throughput, yield, efficiency, and quality.Work closely with Supply Chain and Planning teams to optimise inventory and material flow.Ensure compliance with operational procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices.Champion a strong safety culture across the facility and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations.Oversee hazardous material handling, waste management, and site safety programmes.Partner with Quality teams to resolve issues and drive continuous product quality improvements.Lead, develop, and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, technicians, and operators.Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.Identify opportunities for cost reduction, increased productivity, and equipment optimisation.Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, and Commercial teams to support business objectives and new product introductionsKey RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.Minimum 10 years' experience within manufacturing operations.At least 5 years' experience leading teams within a manufacturing environment.Experience within chemical manufacturing, aerospace materials, coatings, sealants, paints, or related process industries.Strong knowledge of manufacturing performance metrics, process improvement, and operational excellence principles.Experience working with ERP systems.Proven ability to lead large teams and drive performance improvements.Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification would be advantageous.Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.BenefitsCompetitive base salary of $175,000 - $200,000.Annual performance bonus of up to 20%.Comprehensive healthcare coverage.Retirement savings plan.Paid vacation and holidays.Employee Assistance Programme.Disability and additional voluntary benefits.Opportunity to lead operations within a critical aerospace manufacturing facility.
