Devops Engineer with Database experience

We are looking for DevOps Engineer- with some Postgres or other sql DBA experience (20% of the time). This is a full-time permanent hire position with our client. You can work 100% remote (anywhere in USA) for this position. In this role as a DevOps Engineer- Postgres DBA, you will be responsible for company s cloud environments, components-maintenance, optimization, issue analysis, automation, consulting and planning of cloud solutions. You should be able to work within established processes, and be able to leverage the latest tools, automation, and best practices.Responsibilities for a DevOps Engineer- Postgres or SQL:Design, create and maintain company s cloud solutionsAutomate cloud related tasksMaintain cloud environments in Azure and AWSAutomating service deployment and maintenance tasksCreating database structures, tables, views, stored procedures, and indexes to efficiently store and retrieve data.Perform data loading, updates, and deletion operations while maintaining data consistency and accuracy.Monitor database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies to improve query response times.Define user access controls, managing permissions, and implementing security measures to protect sensitive data.Actively monitor database health, identifying potential issues, and resolving database related errors and anomalies.Proactively assess database storage needs and scaling infrastructure to accommodate future data growth.Apply software updates and patches to maintain database compatibility and securityThis position will have an on call rotation (one week every 5-6 weeks) and late night deployments as neededRequired Skills as a DevOps Engineer- Postgres or SQL:8+ years of hands-on experience in an Infrastructure related role4+ years of experience building, delivering, and managing public private and hybrid cloud computing platforms (Azure /AWS) and other open source and commercial DevOps technologies4+ years of hands-on experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and TerraformAbility to read and write complex scripts to automate system deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenanceExperience using source code management toolsExperience with relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres) with the ability to write SQL commands and identify and resolve performance issuesBachelor s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experienceManaged Services experience, e.g. ITSM & ITIL, for a plusValid certificates in either AWS, Azure, Google or Oracle cloud is a huge plus
