Mechanical Test Lab Technician

Join us.We are currently seeking a Test Technician for the Mechanical Test Lab located at our Natrona Heights Operations in Natrona Heights, PA (suburb of Pittsburgh). This position performs various types of testing including physical/mechanical, corrosion, and metallographic testing, the preparation of the test samples, basic preventative maintenance of testing and preparation equipment, and the reporting of the test results. It is a union position that works shifts, requires some weekend work, and has overtime opportunities.Essential Functions:Participation in world class safety program.Ability to work quickly and accurately while following established proceduresUse and operate test equipment (tensile machines, hardness machines, etc.) and sample preparation equipment (shears, milling machines, belt sanders, etc.)Ability to learn trends/see patterns in test results and react properly to items that seem out of the normal range of results.Monitor systems and report/react to reported warnings/failures.Interact with internal staff and testing personnel, as required, in the performance of job responsibilities.Wethrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high.
