CNC Lathe Operator

For more than 100 years, Radiac has delivered industry leading technology and quality products and service to the metal finishing industry.We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our abrasives manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC machines used in the production of abrasive products, ensuring high-quality standards, efficiency, and safety in a fast-paced industrial environment.Reports to: Production SupervisorSalary Range: $23.00 - $26.00 depending on experience and skill level.Shifts: 6:00am - 2:30pm and 2:30pm - 11pmKey ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (lathes) used in abrasives productionInterpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructionsAdjust machine settings to ensure precision and product qualityPerform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipmentInspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)Ensure products meet specifications and quality standardsMaintain accurate production and inspection recordsFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environmentCollaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to improve processesOther duties as assigned by Supervisor or LeadQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred1-3+ years of CNC machining or manufacturing experience (abrasives or similar industry a plus)Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsFamiliarity with CNC programmingStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsAbility to use precision measurement toolsBasic computer skills for machine interface and reportingAbility to communicate, read and write in English.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk bend, stoop, twist for extended periodsLift and carry up to 70 lbs occasionallyWork in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and machineryMust have sufficient visual acuity to safely operate machinery, read gauges and warning indicators, and identify hazards in a manufacturing environment, with or without corrective lenses.Work EnvironmentIndustrial manufacturing plant (abrasives production)Exposure to dust, moving machinery, and varying temperaturesPPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required at all timesPreferred SkillsExperience with grinding or abrasive materials manufacturingKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principlesBenefits Competitive payHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysTraining and advancement opportunities
