Job Title: Maintenance Specialist
Reports To: Director of Facilities and Support Services, Maintenance Supervisor

Summary:
As a partner in building brighter futures for youth and their families, your role will be to assist with and facilitate the maintenance processes at your assigned business locations that align with The Village Networks Mission, Vision & Values.
Essential Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Performs various types of building, grounds & vehicle repair & maintenance services in all The Village Network facilities. Performs preventative maintenance in the form of hazard prevention and life safety. Listing of Maintenance Functions below details specific services. Performs remodeling/construction tasks as needed.
Conducts facility and vehicle inspections to ensure safety and good condition of TVN facilities and vehicles
Coordinates and oversees sub contractors working on TVN facilities and vehicles ensuring tasks are being addressed properly and efficiently.
Manages all maintenance requests, reoccurring inspections, vehicle requests and maintenance preformed through the FMX maintenance tracking system.
Procures needed supplies and tools from designated suppliers for maintenance tasks.
Performs other tasks as necessary
Listing of Maintenance Functions:
Vehicles & Equipment: performs general inspections and light maintenance using wrenches, air tools, jacks, and other hand tools.
Electrical: repairs and installs switches, outlets, wiring, and appliances using testers, pliers, and other hand tools.
Heating & Cooling: repairs and replaces filters, belts, motors, components, and controls using wrenches and other hand tools.
Plumbing: repairs and installs fixtures, facilities equipment, and pipes using wrenches, snakes, and other hand tools.
Carpentry: repairs and/or constructs furniture, doors, windows, masonry, flooring, roofing, etc. Uses saws, drills, hammers, levels, chisels, and other hand/power tools.
Painting & Varnishing: prepares surfaces for finishing/refinishing. Applies paints, stains, and varnishes to buildings and equipment using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and ladders.
Inspects assigned buildings, grounds, etc for condition, life safety items and needed repairs.
Work on call as required to address emergency maintenance needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School Degree/GED; vocational training, apprenticeship, or previous experience in plumbing, electrical work, or other related maintenance areas is necessary; coursework/ training associated with fire safety or fire science is helpful, but not required.
Possesses ability to have basic reading, writing, and math skills required to read reports, perform maintenance duties, etc. In addition, must keep current with maintenance knowledge.
Valid Ohio Drivers License and maintains a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing The Village Network with vehicle insurance.
Willingness to supervise residents working both on and off grounds and maintain required training.
Physical Demands:
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, subject to severe weather and temperatures; ability to lift moderate weight (50-60 lbs.) on a regular basis.
Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company
Ability to handle bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
Vision sufficient to supervise residents at a distance of 50 feet away.
