Tax and Accounting Associate
OverviewBusiness management and professional services firm in Los Angeles is seeking to hire a full-time entry-level Tax and Accounting Associate. Our firm provides tax, accounting, management, and other professional and administrative services to high-net-worth individuals, their corporations, trusts, and their families. Your primary role will be to prepare basic tax returns and perform all accounting tasks and procedures for all clients assigned to you however the ideal candidate desires to fully immerse themselves in all aspects of our client service offering as we have found that our team members thrive and develop their skills more quickly and more comprehensively when they do.Description of Accounting and Account Management ResponsibilitiesYou will immediately be assigned bookkeeping and business management client accounts. Your responsibilities in this area will include:· Meet weekly (virtually and in person) with clients to discuss status of accounts· Maintain accounting records of client accounts assigned to you (most ledgers are maintained in Quickbooks Online)· Perform monthly bank account and credit card reconciliations· Process cash receipts and disbursements· Assist with maintaining employee and payroll records and process regular payrolls· Monitor and process client insurance claims and renewals· Assist with cash flow projections and year end accountings· Assist with matters pertaining to home ownership, ownership of commercial property, insurance, payroll, and billing· Respond to emails and phone calls from clients, vendors, banks, etc.· Respond to miscellaneous paperwork and administrative requests Description of Tax ResponsibilitiesYou will also have a primary role in our tax preparation process and you will immediately work directly with senior management on all aspects of our tax service offering. Your tax responsibilities will include:· Prepare basic tax returns for Individuals, Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, and Tax Exempt Organizations· Assist with quarterly and year-end tax projections· Review trial balance and general ledger and communicate with account managers in order to record adjusting journal entries as appropriate· Special tax and accounting projects as needed Qualifications· Degree or pursuing a degree in accounting, tax, or related field· Lives within commutable distance to Century City and a desire to remain in Los Angeles for the foreseeable future· Proficiency in Quickbooks Online preferred but not necessary Salary/Benefits· Salary ($55,000 - $65,000)We are a business casual office, open from 9:00am-5:30pm, closing at 5:00pm on Fridays.
