About the job:Title: Senior .NET/AI MCP API Developer (100% remote)Job Type: contract to hireOur client, the world’s leading risk and claims administration partner recognized as America’s Greatest Workplaces, is in the beginning stages of an AI transformation and are looking for a Senior .NET/AI MCP API Developer to help them incorporate AI tools into their legacy .NET applications.What you will be doing:Help build Resilient AI Infrastructure: Create stable, fault-tolerant integration patterns that successfully merge AI tools with traditional enterprise software.Accelerate C# .NET Development: Drive speed and efficiency in our core C# .NET API REST applications to support real-time AI data flows.Node-to-Node Layers: Help Implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) API layers to manage secure, fast, and structured node-to-node communication.Protect Core Databases: Assist in Design rate-limiting, caching, and buffering layers to shield production databases from the aggressive query speeds of AI models.Partner with Architecture: Work directly with the system architect to turn abstract technical designs into practical, hands-on code.Manage Downstream Impacts: Identify, document, and resolve hidden or undocumented system behaviors caused by AI integrations.Pragmatic Technical Leadership: Proven experience as a tech lead or principal engineer who prioritizes software stability and practical execution over hype.Experience:5 + years of advanced C# .NET Expertise: Deep hands-on experience building high-throughput REST APIs using modern .NET Core/Frameworks.Previous hands-on experience or knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and integrating LLMs/AI agents into .NET enterprise applications is preferred.High-Performance Data Routing: Strong knowledge of database optimization, caching strategies (e.g., Redis), and message queuing to handle AI workloads.Chaos Engineering Mindset: Ability to foresee how AI tools impact traditional software pipelines, especially regarding undocumented downstream failures.
