Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant

We’re a high‑performing, referral‑driven mortgage team looking for a Specialist to own the front end of the pipeline, have a crazy‑high sense of urgency, and love to figure out and solve mortgage problems like a Rubik’s Cube. You’ll be the gatekeeper, the quarterback, and the reason deals actually get to contract. Compensation Base Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 (depending on experience). Performance Upside (recommended): Bonuses per closed loans; Annual upside for the right performer: $75,000–$90,000+. Why This Role Matters) Lead Conversion & First Contact: Be the first human voice new buyers hear — by phone, text, and email Chase, track, and convert inbound warm leads (speed matters) Set expectations, build rapport, and move clients forward decisively Schedule & prepare high‑quality Discovery Meetings for the Loan Officer Pre-Approvals & File Prep: Guide clients through SimpleNexus document uploads Complete applications, utilize Encompass to work up and structure the Pre‑Approvals Submit accurate, complete pre‑approvals within 24 hours Build scenarios and collaborate with underwriting/investors as needed Client & Realtor Communication: Weekly check‑ins with: Pre‑approved clients, actively searching for property homebuyers, referral partners Be relentlessly proactive — no ghosting, no dropped balls Team Collaboration: Participate in daily huddles and weekly pipeline reviews Support the LO with follow‑up calls and client handoffs Improve systems, scripts, and workflows as you go Help the team get better every month (not just “do your job”) Who Crushes in This Role Fast, organized, and dangerously good on the phone Comfortable driving conversations and asking for decisions Obsessed with follow‑up and details Calm under pressure and allergic to missed deadlines Independent, but a strong team player Qualifications Requirements (Let’s Be Honest) Must‑Have: 3–5+ years mortgage experience (front‑end strongly preferred) Solid understanding of DU/LP and pre‑approval workflows Experience with correspondent/wholesale lenders and understanding how to read guidelines Strong CRM, Excel, and general tech skills Confident communicator — phone, text, email Nice‑to‑Have: NMLS license (or willingness to get it) SimpleNexus & Encompass experience Experience building or improving lead follow‑up systems Strong purchase loan knowledge (Conv/FHA/VA) #J-18808-Ljbffr
