Colleges, Universities, and Professional SchoolsElementary and Secondary SchoolsJunior CollegesBusiness, Professional, Labor, Political, and Similar OrganizationsIndividual and Family ServicesPrimary FunctionFulfill the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay mission by implementing, supervising, and evaluating activities within a specific assigned program area, such as Character and Leadership Development, Health and Life Skills, Education and Career Development, The Arts and/or Sports, Fitness and Recreation.Key RolesCreate an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes by effectively implementing and administering programs, services and activities for club members and visitors.Ensure the safety of club members during program participation onsite and offsite at all times.Monitor and evaluate programs to promote and stimulate program participation. Assist in the recruitment and registration of new members and participate in the club orientation process.Prepare lesson plans and various activities that ensure daily diverse programming for members.Provide guidance and role modeling behavior for club members.Contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining satisfactory attendance, participating in weekly staff meetings and various team-oriented activities. Assist with serving prepared snacks and perform required program-related clerical and housekeeping duties Additional Responsibilities May be required to work on some weekends and/or extended hours for special events and/or programs or support other club locations within a reasonable geography.RelationshipsInternal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club Staff (professional, part-time and volunteers), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and/or advise/counsel.External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents, and others to assist in developing positive relationships and resolving problems.Skills/Knowledge RequiredHigh School diploma or GEDExperience working with youth ages 5-18 years old and basic knowledge of youth developmentAbility to motivate youth, resolve conflicts and manage behavior challengesAbility to deal with the general public and parents with a high degree of professionalism and integrityAbility to plan and implement quality programs for youthAbility to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
