Brief DescriptionDescriptionSummaryThis position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and weekends. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Quality or designee.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Follow all safety requirements.Generate Quality Notifications in the PLP IntranetConducts product inspection and testing to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Works with production personnel in maintaining a path of continual improvement in products and services supplied to our customers.Maintain good housekeeping in lab and lab areas.Conducts inspection and testing as prescribed in the PLP Quality Manual:Perform Density, Melt Index/HLMI, and Ash tests on all incoming products.Conduct in-process inspections for pipe extrusion a minimum of 2x per shiftVerify pipe dimensions on samples submitted for final inspectionPerform Quick Burst and Ring Tensile, within the capabilities of the lab equipment.Inspect finished product and mark appropriately for identification of acceptance status.Job SkillsThis position should possess the following skills/knowledge:Leadership, professionalism, organizational, and communication skillsExperience with Word and ExcelStrong focus on safety, quality customer service, and productivityAbility to operate a forkliftEducational RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentStrong math skillsPreferred Experience1-2 years’ experiencePrevious customer service and/or warehouse experiencePhysical RequirementsAbility to lift 75 poundsAbility to verbally communicate with other employeesAbility to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremesAbility to use hands, arms, and legs to physically handle and transport finished goodsPosition requires a full range of body motion, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehiclesAbility to speak, read and write fluently in the English languageMust be able to withstand extreme weather conditions (especially heat)Must be able to work weekendsAbility to operate a forkliftMust have reliable transportation to/from workMust be punctual to work
