ROLE: Batch Job Scheduler--Operations Specialist IILocation: Rancho Cordova, CADuration: 1+ yearThe Graveyard Shift hours are 11:00pm - 7:30 am, this role will initially be for the Thursday to Monday Graveyard shift.The candidate selected will permanently work the Graveyard shift either Tuesday - Saturday or Thursday - Monday.Tasks/Responsibilities:Junior-level technician supporting systems operations functions, such as batch job scheduling, monitoring, and recovery.Experience with automated enterprise batch scheduling software, preferably Tivoli Workload SchedulerProvides 24x7x365 coverage for batch processing.Performs file transfers, backup/restore functions, monitors memory usage and other system health indicators.Performs troubleshooting of system stalls, failed batch jobs, system errors, as needed to resume normal operations in accordance with specific guidelines and procedures.Escalates unresolved problems to system and application specialists.Completes special projects and duties assigned by management to improve batch operations and identify automation opportunities.Maintains direct knowledge of all system operations processes, procedures, and quality standards.
