Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

General Summary Administers anesthetic agents to patients according to established standards and regulations. Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:* Reviews and assesses patient condition and develops anesthesia management plan in collaboration with the Anesthesiologist. * Administers anesthetic agents. Calculates doses and monitors parameters. * Maintains patient documentation. * Responds to code/trauma to establish and maintain patient airways via intubation. Documents treatment rendered. * Transports patients from surgery area to post-anesthesia recovery area. Reports patient status to physician and nurse care giver. * Provides airway management training to residents, students and other staff. * IF ASSIGNED TO GETTYSBURG HOSPITAL: May be required to rotate work between the hospital and an ambulatory setting.Common Expectations:* Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment.
