Electrical Foreman

DescriptionDescription:The Electrical Foreman is responsible to plan, supervise and perform implementation of large electrical projects. The incumbent will manage teams of Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians, providing on-site direction and leadership to complete jobs within specific guidelines and ensuring all work is done in accordance with relevant local, state, federal and site-specific rules and regulations while maintaining safety standards.Schedule: 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off7 days per week, 11.5 hours per day80.5 hours per weekWork Location: North Slope, AlaskaWorkplace Benefits: Overtime GuaranteedMedical Insurance (Individual and Family)Dental InsuranceVision Insurance401k with Company MatchAccidental Death and Dismemberment (Voluntary)Life InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramLicensing Information and Requirements: Alaska Electrical License requiredEssential Job Functions: Plans, supervises and performs all phases of installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of electrical systemsInspects installations for quality, ensuring codes are metProvides customer and client with cost estimate of proposed electrical installation, repair and/or maintenancePerforms cost estimates and projections for electrical projectsReviews and evaluates electrical proceduresEvaluates employees' progress, trains and mentors new team membersEnsures project remains under-budget and proper quality equipment and tools are utilizedMaintains a proper record of completed tasks and the methods used to achieve goals and objectivesEnsures all work is conducted in accordance with NEC and NFPA requirement as well as local, city, state, and national electrical codes, and all Company and Client standards.Required Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, or EquivalentValid Driver's License with clean driving recordFour (4) years' experience as licensed Journeyman ElectricianNSTC, North Slope Training CertificatePost Job Offer Requirements: Take and pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.Take and pass a Fit-for-Duty Examination.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge and experience with power tools, electrical equipment and construction equipmentKnowledge of electrical codesKnowledge of proper electrical equipment use conducive to conditions and assignments including adherence to Hazardous Materials and Safety RegulationsComprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, operational and mechanical systems including installation, test, maintenance and repairUnderstanding of how electrical system operates under normal and emergency conditionsUnderstanding of electrical schematics, diagrams and blueprintsVerbal and written communication skillsSkilled in repair of electrical equipment, wiring, and other fixtures.Strong mechanical, analytical and solution driven skillsBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Etc.)Basic math skillsStrong troubleshooting abilityAbility to diagnose system malfunctions, locate cause of breakdown and recommend solutionAbility to recognize and respond to dangerous situations or emergencies such as high voltage systems, electrical fires, loose hot wires, broken power lines, etc.Ability to give direction and oversight to helpers and apprenticesPhysical Demand/Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
