Chief Financial Officer - Commercial Construction CompanyJOB DESCRIPTION:Summary/Objective: The CFO will be responsible for managing the financial decisions of a multi-million company experiencing aggressive growth. Will manage the company's financial situation by observing the current capital structure and developing long-term financial goals. Will play an integral role in driving the success of the company by monitoring financial performance and developing a profitable financial plan. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing.The goal is to protect the company's revenues and profits to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth.Supervisory Responsibilities:Lead finance and accounting personnelWorks with other department heads and C-suite to monitor each department and make recommendations.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Drive the company's financial planningDevelops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectivesDirect and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organizationAssisting the CEO to develop financial plansReports financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvementsControl and evaluate the organization's fundraising plans and capital structureEnsure cash flow is appropriate for the organization's operationsMaintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partnersDirects the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.Ensure compliance with the law and company's policiesReviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methodsManaging insurance and other financial protections (such as general liability, worker's compensation, insurance for fleet, etc.)Create and manage fleet policiesEducation and Certifications:BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plusCertified Public Accountant designation preferredRequirements:Proven experience as CFO, finance officer or relevant role OR10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in real estate development, property management, and/or constructions industryIn depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practicesExcellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methodsProficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheetsSolid GAAP and financial reporting technical skillsSkills and Capabilities:Financial planning and strategyManaging profitabilityStrategic planning and visionQuality managementPromotion of process improvementForecastingCorporate financeBudget developmentStrong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysesDemonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence - ability to motivate and inspire staffOutstanding communication and presentation skillsExcellent analytical and organizational skillsHigh level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-oriented
