Electrical Designer – Automation Systems Lawrenceville, GADirect Hire$110,000 – $120,000 (based on experience)Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support the design and development of electrical hardware for custom automated machinery and production systems. This role focuses on schematic design, panel layouts, electrical calculations, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality automation solutions.Key Responsibilities Design electrical hardware for custom automation equipmentSize and specify control components, drives, and instrumentationPerform electrical load calculations and circuit protection sizingDetermine proper wire sizing per applicable codes and standardsCreate electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layoutsDevelop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in PDM systemsPrepare electrical release packages and manage drawing revisionsSupport machine safety design and system interface requirementsCollaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teamsParticipate in design reviews, installations, and service supportEnsure compliance with ISO 9001 processes and documentationLead hardware engineering efforts on assigned projects when neededQualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of electrical design experience in custom automationStrong PLC/HMI integration experienceExperience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs and servo systemsAdvanced experience with EPLAN P8 (2022 or newer)AutoCAD experience for electrical drawing modificationsStrong knowledge of industrial electrical codes and safety standardsFamiliarity with ISO, OSHA, and cGMP environments preferredStrong communication skills and attention to detailAbility to travel as project needs requireWhy us?
