Job Description Medical BillerLocation: Jonesboro, GAEmployment Type: Full-TimeRole SummaryWe are seeking a meticulous and experienced Medical Biller for an internal medicine practice in Jonesboro GA with a minimum of 5 years in billing and coding to manage the full cycle of the Billing Department including verification, payment follow up, claims denials, prior authorization and pre certification.Key ResponsibilitiesClaims Management: Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.Coding Verification: Ensure all CPT and ICD-10 codes accurately reflect the services provided during urgent care visits.Accounts Receivable: Follow up on unpaid claims within standard turnaround times and file appeals when necessary.Patient Advocacy: Answer patient inquiries regarding billing statements, insurance coverage, and outstanding balances with empathy and clarity.Payment Posting: Accurately post payments from insurance providers and patients to the correct accounts.Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and stay updated on evolving insurance industry trends and payer requirements.Requirements & QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 5 years of medical billing experience (Urgent Care or Emergency Room billing experience is highly preferred).Knowledge: Deep understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office (Excel).Traits: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a "patient-first" communication style.Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Certification (CPC or CPB) is a plus.Why Join Us?Community Impact: Serve your neighbors in Jonesboro in a vital healthcare setting.Supportive Environment: Work alongside a team that values your expertise in the revenue cycle.Competitive Compensation: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.We are an equal opportunity employer.
