Manager, Project Management - Power
DescriptionThe OpportunityUlteig is looking for a highly engaged and qualified candidate for our Manager - Project Management position in the Power Lifeline Sector. This role will focus on leading a team of project management supervisors, project managers, and project coordinators, fostering on-the-job leadership development, encouraging additional and efficient team growth, and oversee the execution of project and/or construction management solutions on transmission and substation power delivery projects. The duties will include management and development of supervisors and project team members, coordination with clients, and internal business partners, business development activities, resource coordination, hiring, and management of team financial targets and goals.This individual will report within the leadership team in Ulteig's Power LLS to the Associate Director of the Project Management department. The Manager - Project Management is a self-starting leader who will primarily focus on project and team success, people development, and project delivery excellence.What You'll DoLeadership & Team OversightFoster a collaborative, high-performing team culture that supports retention, connectivity, and engagementCoach, mentor, and develop staff through training, career development discussions and growth opportunitiesProvide direction and leadership to Project Management Supervisors, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators in alignment with department and organizational performance goals.Monitor and approve team budgets, including revenue, profitability, and indirect expenses (training, recognition, events, etc.)Oversee workforce planning and resource forecasting across your team to ensure proper staffing alignment with business needs.Lead regular team and 1:1 meetings, quarterly reviews, and performance evaluations, including merit, bonus, and promotion decisionsServe as the point of contact for escalating complex team issues, managing conflicts, and facilitating communication between team members.Champion the use of Ulteig project management tools, standards, and industry best practicesPromote continuous improvement by sharing and implementing lessons learned across teamsEnsure compliance with Ulteig's governance policies and proceduresProject ManagementSupport complex and large portfolio of programs as a senior leader of project executionProvide portfolio management oversightManage our largest and most complex, multi-disciplinary projects from initiation through close-out including engineering, field services, procurement, and construction management scopes for the Power Lifeline SectorCoordinate matrixed execution teams to ensure resources are focused on the right activity at the right time to meet project schedulesLead project meetings, progress reviews, and problem-solving sessions, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectivelyEnsure all project deliverables meet quality standards, contract requirements, and client expectationsDevelop and implement detailed project plans, including risk management and mitigation strategiesApply strong contract strategy knowledge to align prime and client agreements for successful project deliveryAnalyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations to support project scope, schedule, and budget objectivesProcess Development and Improvement ActivitiesInvest in continuous improvement activities and initiatives for the department and company, driving effective and efficient project executionCollaborate with various functions across the organization in the effective implementation and execution of Project Management processesCreation and delivery of training tools, standard operating procedures, and process enhancements in collaboration with the Project Management Center of Excellence.Drive digital transformation by promoting innovative tools, data-driven insights, and technology adoption to enhance project delivery and operational efficiencyBusiness Development ResponsibilitiesPartner with the sales team to drive revenue growth, manage profitability, and expand services with current and prospective clientsSupport proposal efforts on contracts, work orders, MSAs, and NDAs in levels of expertise, integrity, and commitmentWhat We Expect from YouBachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience10+ years of project experience, with significant experience in managing engineering projects, power industry experience highly preferredTechnical engineering knowledge, with the ability to understand and coordinate solutions for complex engineering challenges requiredPE, PMP, CCM or equivalent certification preferredExperience in leading, managing, and developing other Project Management Professionals preferredDemonstrated leadership skills and a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams, including project and program managers, engineering, operations, and subconsultantsMust be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic and collaborative attitudeDemonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, staff, and leadershipExcellent presentation and verbal/written communications skillsProven experience in Microsoft Office applications and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Planview Adaptive Work), with advanced understanding and experience of scheduling and cost planningAbility to travel (25%) to engage with team members, clients, and/or for team, department, or company level events Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $134,300 - $181,800
