The successful candidate will be the senior-most toxicology expert, leading the nonclinical aspects of the company's pipeline programs. This role is pivotal in creating and implementing a long-term global toxicology strategy that aligns with the company's vision and objectives. The VP will be responsible for the scientific direction of global regulatory toxicology, safety assessments, and will oversee a team of in-house and external toxicologists. Collaboration across therapeutic areas is essential to ensure that toxicology and nonclinical safety data are effectively integrated into the development strategy. Applicants must have a PhD in toxicology or a related discipline, with at least 15 years of experience, and a strong preference for those with DABT certification. The role requires a proven track record in interfacing with global regulatory authorities, designing, and interpreting safety studies for regulatory submissions. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of FDA and EMA requirements for nonclinical safety submissions, and a collaborative mindset capable of excelling within multi-discipline discovery and development teams. Key responsibilities include providing strategic and operational leadership for the toxicology group, advising on the impact of toxicology findings on program goals, and actively participating in regulatory meetings.
