Job Title: Circulating Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 1-3 years in cardiothoracic surgery required License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: ACLS BLS CNOR (preferred but not required) Must-Have: Experience in cardiothoracic surgery Willingness to participate in on-call duties Description: The position is for a Circulating Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. The ability to scrub in the operating room is preferred but not required. Candidates should have 1-3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Call duty is required. Candidates must have experience in the administration of blood and blood products. Additional skills include aortic aneurysm repair, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), and handling intra-aortic balloon pumps. Candidates should be familiar with the universal protocol and various surgical procedures. Experience with patient ratios and charting systems is beneficial. Applicants should be capable of specimen handling and urinary bladder catheterization.
