Lead Commercial HVAC Installer

Job Description Position OverviewWe are seeking a high-caliber Lead Commercial HVAC Installer to spearhead large-scale projects across Central Ohio. This is a leadership role designed for an expert technician who takes pride in "clean" installs and has the authority to manage a crew. You will be the point person on-site, ensuring that new construction projects in Central Ohio and the surrounding areas are completed on time, within spec, and to the highest industry standards.Key Responsibilities (Leadership & Execution)Project Leadership: Lead the full-cycle installation of commercial systems (RTUs, split systems, and VRF/mini-splits) from ground-breaking to startup.Blueprint & Spec Mastery: Independently interpret complex mechanical blueprints, submittals, and engineered drawings to plan out daily crew tasks.Ductwork Expert: Oversee the hanging and field-fabrication of spiral, rectangular, and flex ducting, ensuring airtight integrity and aesthetic precision.Apprentice Mentorship: Manage and train on-site apprentices, taking direct responsibility for the quality of their work and their professional development.Technical Precision: Direct the installation of refrigerant lines, brazing, and low-voltage wiring.Site Coordination: Act as the primary on-site contact for Project Managers and other trades to ensure smooth job flow and safety compliance.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: 7+ years of dedicated commercial HVAC installation experience (with at least 1–2 years in a Lead or Foreman capacity preferred).Technical Expertise: Advanced sheet metal field-modification skills and a deep understanding of local Ohio mechanical codes.Certifications: EPA Universal Certification is preferredTools: Must possess a professional-grade suite of trade tools (cordless kits, etc.).Physical: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work from ladders/scaffolds, and operate in all weather conditions.Compliance: Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean MVR and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen (including THC/Marijuana).What We OfferCompetitive Compensation: Top-of-market hourly pay (commensurate with experience).Stability: Consistent, year-round commercial work—no seasonal layoffs.Professional Support: We provide the van, the tech, and the crew; you provide the leadership.Growth Path: Opportunities to grow into leadership positions.Company DescriptionPerformance Heating & Cooling has 4 divisions each with separate management Serving Central Ohio since 2008.
