DevOps Engineer

Job Title: Sr AWS Devops Engineer Location: Plano TX – Need locals only / Onsite roleDuration: 12 monthsTechnical SkillsCloud Expertise:AWS Services: Extensive experience with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation.Networking: Proficiency in designing and managing VPCs, subnets, security groups, NAT gateways, and VPNs.Serverless Architecture: Knowledge of AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and related services for building and managing serverless applications.Infrastructure as Code (IaC):AWS CloudFormation/Terraform: Experience with CloudFormation or Terraform for managing infrastructure as code.AWS CDK: Experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit for defining cloud infrastructure using programming languages.CI/CD Pipelines:Jenkins/AWS CodePipeline: Experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, or similar tools.Version Control: Proficiency with Git, GitHub, GitLab, or similar version control systems.Containerization and Orchestration:Docker: Experience in containerizing applications using Docker.Amazon ECS/EKS/Kubernetes: Proficiency in deploying and managing containers using Amazon ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.Monitoring and Logging:Amazon CloudWatch: Experience in setting up monitoring and logging using CloudWatch.Security and Compliance:AWS IAM and KMS: Strong understanding of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Key Management Service (KMS).Security Best Practices: Knowledge of AWS security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance frameworks.Scripting and Automation:Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, or other languages.AWS CLI and SDKs: Experience using AWS CLI and SDKs for automation.2. Experience RequirementsProfessional Experience:10+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related roles.Hands-on experience managing production workloads on AWS.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Project Management:Experience with managing and delivering complex projects.Familiarity with project management tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar.3. Soft SkillsProblem-Solving:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.Ability to optimize infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.Documentation:Experience in creating and maintaining documentation for processes, systems, and infrastructure.4. Certifications (Preferred)AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional: Demonstrating expertise in DevOps on AWS.AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional: Ensure a strong understanding of AWS architecture.5. EducationBachelor’s Degree or higher: Often in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
