As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.Required Qualifications:One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RNValid RN license in compliance with state regulationsCurrent BLS (AHA/ ARC) certificationPreferred Qualifications:PALS or ENPC certificationsACLS certificationRCIS/RCES certificationOther certifications or licenses may be required for this positionSummary:The Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures in the IR lab. This role involves pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and post-procedure recovery management. The IR Nurse works closely with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal procedural outcomes.Essential Work Functions:Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including reviewing medical history and lab resultsEducate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post-procedure careAdminister and monitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safetyMonitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation levels during proceduresAssist physicians during procedures, ensuring proper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handlingRecognize and respond to complications, escalating care when necessaryProvide post-procedure monitoring and recovery care, including pain management and patient discharge educationMaintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, and procedural detailsCollaborate with IR technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated careAdhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standardsPerform other duties as assigned within the scope of practiceRequired Essential Skills:Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, and communicate in the English languageAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bendInterpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipmentMental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
