Associate Vice President, Finance and Business Operations

Peregrine Team is seeking a strategic and hands-on Associate Vice President of Finance and Business Operations to lead finance, accounting, and operational functions for a non-profit organization. This role partners closely with the CFO and executive leadership to drive financial strategy, operational efficiency, compliance, and long-term planning.The ideal candidate is both a strong financial leader and an operator who can oversee accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance while also improving systems, processes, and cross-functional alignment across the organization.Key Responsibilities:Serve as a member of the CFO’s leadership team and contribute to organizational strategy and financial planningOversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, audits, tax, and compliance functions Lead annual operating plan and budgeting process aligned with strategic prioritiesMonitor financial performance, KPIs, and variance analysis to support executive decision-makingEnsure GAAP compliance, internal controls, and regulatory reporting requirements are metManage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial consultantsDevelop financial reporting tools, dashboards, and scorecards to support leadership and board reportingLead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culturePartner with operational and program teams to align financial systems and business processesDrive process improvement, automation, and efficiency across finance and business operationsSupport board reporting and presentations in partnership with the CFOParticipate in retirement plan governance and other organizational committees as neededRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredCertified Public Accountant (CPA) requiredPrior senior leadership experience in a complex organization, nonprofit experience strongly preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reportingExperience working with executive leadership and/or boards of directorsProven leadership experience managing and developing teamsStrong communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications:Nonprofit or mission-driven organization experienceExperience with financial transformation, process improvement, or system implementationExperience working with external auditors, investment advisors, or governance committees
