Full Time MAIN, Lakeland, FL, US 8 days ago Requisition ID: 1024 Position Summary Mi Escuela Montessori is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and student-focused Physical Education Assistant to support our PE program and assist with the school's After Care Program. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, promotes healthy lifestyles, and creates a safe, engaging, and positive environment for students throughout the school day and after school. Physical Education Duties Assist the Physical Education teacher with planning and conducting daily PE classes. Set up, organize, and store sports equipment before and after classes. Supervise students during physical activities and outdoor play. Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles. Monitor student safety and enforce school policies and procedures. Support students of varying abilities and encourage participation. Assist with field days, athletic events, and other school activities. Maintain PE equipment and ensure facilities are clean and organized. After Care Duties Supervise students during the school's after care program. Plan and lead age-appropriate games, recreational activities, homework support, and enrichment opportunities. Maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming environment for all students. Monitor student behavior and communicate any concerns to school administration and parents as appropriate. Assist with student sign-in/sign-out procedures and ensure students are released only to authorized individuals. Support snack distribution and cleanup following school guidelines. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred. Experience working with children in a school, recreation, coaching, or childcare setting is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and actively participate in physical activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Passion for working with children and promoting healthy lifestyles.
