Job Description Job ResponsibilitiesThe role involves delivering direct patient care within the Primary Care department. You will also provide clinical direction to Physician Assistants and other team members as needed.Engagement in interdisciplinary team activities is essential to ensure the highest quality of patient care is either maintained or enhanced. You will contribute to the ongoing improvement of service delivery, which may involve participation in various initiatives within the facility. Regular evaluations of patients will be conducted to monitor any changes in their physical and mental health, with progress notes documented in their medical records.Coordination with healthcare providers both within and outside your Service Line, as well as across other divisions and CBOC Clinics, is a key responsibility based on the veteran's care plan. Open and collaborative communication is vital. You will be accountable for minimizing barriers for both Veterans and staff, thereby fostering a positive work atmosphere. Building strong relationships with colleagues, peers, and Veterans is crucial.Your duties will also include performing patient assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing appropriate medical care. All staff in Primary Care are required to be properly credentialed and privileged.Participation in various hospital committees, departmental training programs, and educational initiatives is expected. You will also engage in continuous quality improvement efforts through peer reviews and the FPPE/OPPE process. Active involvement in compliance readiness activities, as requested by the Chief of Primary Care, Quality Management, and the Chief of Staff, is also part of the role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.Responsibilities will extend to participating in quality assurance programs, conducting chart reviews, and ensuring medical records are completed in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws and Regulations.As a corporate citizen, you will serve as a leader or active member on Medical Center committees as requested and attend Medical Service Staff meetings, as well as meetings of the Medical/Dental staff.Effective and creative teaching, along with providing guidance to others involved in Primary Care-related educational programs, is also part of your role.Maintaining Basic Life Support certification and completing all mandatory training by the designated deadlines is required.Work ScheduleYour work hours will typically be Monday through Friday, with variable hours.
