Regional Area ManagerReporting to the East Regional COO, the Regional Area Manager is accountable for the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of multiple facilities within the East Region. This role has full responsibility for P&L ownership across assigned facilities and provides leadership and coordination among facility teams, commercial partners, and functional support groups. The Regional Area Manager fosters a high-performance culture, ensures regulatory compliance, optimizes operating and capital expenditures, and drives operational excellence through data-driven decision making.This leader oversees facilities including Thermal Mechanical Treatment Facilities (TTF), Material Processing Facilities (MPF), and Transfer Stations (TS), ensuring operations meet customer needs while maximizing asset performance and company profitability.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish safety as the core value and operational priority, driving Operational Excellence and asset availability across the regionProvide visible, hands-on leadership in safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory complianceLead implementation of safety, health, and environmental programs, policies, and proceduresMeasure and monitor performance through audits and KPI trackingLead Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives and ensure timely execution across all assigned facilitiesEnsure consistent, integrated operations and maintenance standards through planning, communication, and process sharingPartner with Commercial and S&OP teams to support regional growth initiativesDeliver P&L results aligned to budget and growth plans through detailed planning around waste mix, routing, and proforma executionDrive facility production, equipment availability, and operational reliabilityIdentify operating deficiencies and coordinate corporate and field support to implement corrective actionsCoach WTE and MPF facility leaders on safety performance, P&L management, and execution of planned and unplanned eventsCollaborate closely with regional maintenance and engineering leaders to optimize asset performanceAssess talent across facilities, develop succession plans, and ensure leadership bench strengthActively develop and prepare leaders for future Operations leadership rolesPromote community engagement that reinforces Reworld's value proposition in the marketplaceCoordinate corporate functional support to ensure effective integration, cost control, and organic growthLead change management for operational transformation initiatives, including the adoption of new tools, processes, and systemsEnsure accurate, standardized reporting of production, operating statistics, labor costs, and operating expensesSupport asset performance assessments and document lessons learned to improve policies and programsServe as a champion for Lean Management and continuous improvement initiativesIdentify process improvement opportunities using Problem Solving Reports (PSRs) and benchmarkingPartner with Engineering and PMO on capital planning, budgeting, forecasting, and facility master planningEnsure compliance with the Technical Standards Program, including outage planning, execution oversight, and cost control practicesQualifications and ExperienceMinimum of 10 years of progressive operations management experienceAt least 5 years of supervisory and people leadership experienceDemonstrated experience leading multiple operational sites and O&M executionProven track record of safety leadership and P&L ownershipExperience building and leading high-performance teams in complex, large-scale operationsEnd-to-end operational knowledge across waste handling, material processing, water treatment, boiler and turbine operations, metals recovery, ash handling, and auxiliary systemsBachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferredLean or continuous improvement certification preferredStrong business and financial acumen with demonstrated P&L impactAbility to drive a strong culture of process safety, worker safety, and environmental complianceUnderstanding of power market dynamics and plant operations is preferredExperience engaging with federal, state, and local regulators, permitting agencies, and community stakeholders preferredWhat We Offer YouIn addition to salary, this role is eligible for benefits. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $165,500.00 - $236,600.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary.
