SUMMARYThe ideal candidate can expect to teach a variety of course offerings in Sign Language Certificate Program. A variety of teaching modalities are offered including online, blended, FLEX and in-person instruction. Experience teaching diverse students at various levels of college-preparedness and non-traditional students is highly desirable.AAS/BS with licensure and teaching experienceState Licensure: Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission (IDHHC) BEI Certification (Interpreter) or EIPA Education Interpreter Performance AssessmentCurrent Professional Membership: Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission (IDHHC) or Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or CAIRSTeaching Experience 1- 2 yearsMust successfully pass a criminal background check.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Teaching experience 2-3 years with at least one year in Illinois.* Demonstrate ability to use technology in the classroom.STATUS/SALARY:This is a part-time faculty position with salary to be determined by placement on the adjunct faculty salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.BEGINNING DATE: August 10, 2026APPLICATION DEADLINE: Until FilledAPPLICATION PROCEDURE: Submit letter of application, resume, and transcripts to: ssc.edu/jobs
