The Assistant Signal Maintainer position is an entry-level position within the Engineering Department – Signal at New Jersey Transit Rail Operations. Upon and during successful completion of the probationary period, Assistant Signalmen will be enrolled into New Jersey TRANSIT’s Signal Training program and are contractually obligated to pass (8) company-sponsored training modules within a (2) two-year period in order to be promoted to the position of Signal Maintainer and maintain permanent employment with NJ TRANSIT.
