- I am looking for a seasoned reporter who covers the achievements and human interest/staff stories of the people and projects of UCSF Campus Life Services.
- The Communications Specialist serves as a seasoned reporter on the “Campus Life Services’ (CLS) beat” seeking story ideas, writing short and feature stories, interviewing staff at every level of the organization, and taking photography (camera provided) all in service to raising awareness of our organization’s efforts at Making Life Better Here for the UCSF community.
- The incumbent will focus on storytelling to promote our work and our CLS staff, and under the direction of the Associate Director, Strategic Marketing and Communications, will work closely with centralized communications teams and colleagues within the CLS departments to initiate, plan, and implement a cohesive internal strategic communications program to build understanding of organizational goals and priorities and foster engagement among employees.
- Types of editorial that the incumbent will oversee include: the weekly and bi-weekly internal newsletters, short feature highlights, feature story reporting, and frequent contributions to Pulse, UCSF’s digital newsletter and the main Campus Life Services Facebook and X accounts (formerly Twitter).
- The Communications Specialist manages the division’s social media presence in coordination with CLS business units, using metrics to determine platform effectiveness, appropriate and compelling content, and frequency of posts.
