- Wastewater Utility Maintenance Worker II's perform skilled and specialized wastewater inspection, maintenance, operations, repairs and construction duties; operate eductor combination high velocity water/vacuum sewer cleaning equipment, closed-circuit TV equipment, portable generators, rodding machines, pickup and dump trucks and other specialized equipment as required; may serve as lead worker to Maintenance Worker I's, part-time, and seasonal employees as assigned.
- Operate the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to investigate, monitor and respond to trouble alarms at individual lift stations; utilize Geographic Information (GIS) systems and flow monitoring records or information to troubleshoot and resolve wastewater collection service issues or problems.
- Break and remove asphalt or other surfaces using backhoe, air, electric, or hydraulic jackhammers, chipping guns, pick, shovel to affect the raising or lowering of manhole rings or facilitate other wastewater system repairs.
- Set up, maintain and take down traffic control equipment; perform flagging duties in work zones; and effectively control traffic to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform general wastewater building and structure maintenance and repair that includes routine or minor carpenter, electrical, or plumbing; perform grounds maintenance activities including raking and clearing leaves; graffiti, litter and debris removal; line trimming, mowing, weeding, and other vegetation or pest control tasks.
