- The Underwriter and Portfolio Officer primary function and responsibility is to underwrite commercial loans (C&I, CRE, structured financing or program lending) requests in accordance with the bank’s policies and procedures and appropriate guidelines and reviews all documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze borrowers’ information/financial statements, collateral and tax returns to determine ability to pay; conducting forecast analysis, assist in preparing and underwriting credit approvals for review.
- Responsible for ordering documents with the credit department that relates to underwriting process, including collateral audit (C&I loan) and AR/AP invoice, aging reports , credit report retrieval, appraisal reports (CRE loans or C&I collateral), environmental reports (CRE loans), OFAC, preliminary reports, title reports, title Insurance, and asset review reports.
