- The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator assumes responsibility for the coordination of trauma performance improvement activities for University Hospital's Level One Adult Trauma Program.
- Manages identification of performance improvement indicators as outlined by the DNV, ACS, DOH and hospital criteria; initiates and manages follow-up on identified performance improvement indicators determined by the Trauma PI Committee.
- Attends trauma rounds daily and validates the integrity of the trauma registry, leads PI projects and understands loop closure.
- Reporting to the Trauma Program Manager, this position interacts and works closely with entities of the trauma system including the Trauma Medical Director, Department of Surgery, Hospital Administration, Nursing and the Trauma Team. The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator will be active in the State Trauma Advisory Committee, American Trauma Society and be a regional leader in trauma performance improvement.
- The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator must be able to bring together and work across multiple disciplines and service lines to maintain a comprehensive trauma system.
