- Employees assigned in the Transportation Engineer Career Program may be responsible in any of the following: assisting in highway design projects, assignments focusing on concept development and project feasibility analyses, applying structural engineering theories, principles, and standards to a variety of transportation structures.
- New engineers will be involved with the design of new bridges, bridge deck replacements, bridge rehabilitation and repairs, culverts, retaining walls, and noise abatement walls, or traffic signal poles, sign structures, and high mast lighting poles.
- Transportation Engineer I (Hydraulics/Water Resources Track)
- This position may provide design responsibilities for storm drains, storm-water management facilities, and erosion and sediment control plans on state projects.
- Transportation Engineer I's in this track will be performing engineering duties in support of project development, highway infrastructure, asset management, construction projects and condition assessments.
