This position is located onsite at the Macomb County Jail in Mount Clemens, Michigan. </li></ul>FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt. Overtime pursuant to Collective Bargaining Agreement or Human Resources and Labor Relations Policy EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP: Just cause subject to probationary period General Summary Under direction, conducts screenings, intake assessments and case management services within a Person-Centered Planning approach to adult mentally ill, adult developmentally disabled and children with serious emotional disturbance. Requests referrals for ongoing services within Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH) direct operated or contract programs. Maintains clinical and administrative records. Coordinates, consults and provides liaison work with other agencies and systems. Ensures service authorizations are current. Implements program goals and activities. Essential Functions And Responsibilities Performs direct clinical services, including, screening of referrals or walk-in consumers, assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Responsible for crisis intervention, treatment plans, case management, and transition services. Performs indirect clinical services including complete case documentation following MCCMH policies and procedures; confirms diagnosis to make the most suitable and medically necessary recommendations; assists client and/or family in obtaining appropriate resources. Provides case management services for consumers to assist in obtaining necessary services and coordinates those services until the consumer is transitioned to a service provider. Maintains accurate clinical documentation, including, assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and other required documentation. Ensures accurate administrative paperwork, including, staff activity logs, statistical reports, attendance, mileage reports, and case lists. Participates in agency and system staff meetings. Conducts thorough, accurate, and clinically sound screenings with consumers, guardians, and family members in a timely manner. Requests authorizations for services provided, monitors utilization of services, requests re-authorizations or continuations as needed. Serves on community mental health or community based committees. Supervises the work of department interns as needed. Performs administrative responsibilities of a Clinical Supervisor as needed. Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: <ul><li>Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Doctorate in Psychology or a directly related mental health field from an accredited college or university</li><li>Two (2) years of clinical experience working in a mental health setting </li></ul>Preferred Education And Experience <ul><li>Previous community mental health experience with children, adolescents, or adults</li><li>Knowledge of the Macomb County Provider Network </li></ul>Required Licenses Or Certifications <ul><li>Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Limited Licensed Master of Social Work (LLMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Limited License Professional Counselor (LLPC), Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP), or Licensed Psychologist (LP)</li><li>Possession of required state licensure appropriate to position and ability to meet privileging and credentialing guidelines</li><li>Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel </li></ul>Preferred Licenses Or Certifications <ul><li>Certification with the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) or an approved development plan </li></ul>Knowledge Of COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES: <ul><li>Michigan Mental Health Code/401 criteria</li><li>Mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and developmental disabilities</li><li>Techniques to de-escalate/interact in potentially dangerous situations</li><li>Applicable computer applications </li></ul>Skill In <ul><li>Using good professional judgment for the welfare and safety of our consumers</li><li>Providing excellent and timely customer service</li><li>Performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another </li></ul>Ability To <ul><li>Collaborative: Approaches all situations with a teamwork and solution focused mindset demonstrated through active participation in meetings, volunteering to assist teammates and other departments as appropriate.
