- The School of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts, Texas A&M University, invites applications for one (1) full time, tenure track assistant professor position in visual computing and interactive media for virtual production with a nine-month academic appointment beginning in Fall 2024 at the Texas A&M campus in Bryan/College Station, Texas.
- The school and the faculty section of Visual Computing & Computational Media are particularly interested in candidates with research and creative works directions in at least one of the following areas:Narrow generative AI in graphics and simulationReal-time graphics, simulation, and data visualization,Motion tracking,User experience in extended reality,Volumetric capture, 3D scanning and imaging,Mechatronics and fabrication,Acoustics in virtual environments.
- The successful applicant are expected to develop and maintain an independent research program with capacity for extramural partnerships and projects, teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise and mentor graduate students, participate in all aspects of the school’s activities, and serve the professional community.
- The VPI’s first production stages and labs will open in the 2024-2025 academic year near the Texas A&M University main campus in Bryan/College Station and the Texas A&M - Fort Worth campus in downtown Fort Worth.
- The VPI is part of the School of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts (PVFA).
