- The Department of Earth Sciences in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment at the University of Delaware (UD) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in Earth Surface Processes beginning in fall 2024 at the rank of Assistant Professor.
- Candidates will be considered from any specialization within surface processes/geomorphology; those focusing on coastal processes, natural hazards, or the cryosphere, and who use tools such as numerical modeling, remote sensing, and big data science are especially encouraged to apply.
- We seek a candidate whose research is attentive to both high-impact applications and cutting-edge technology and can build on existing strengths in the Department of Earth Sciences that include geochemistry, microbiology, hydrology, seismology, and geophysics.
- The successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate across the university with faculty in units such as the Department of Geography and Spatial Sciences, the School of Marine Science and Policy, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences, and the Department of Applied Economics and Statistics.
- Interdisciplinary efforts may include interactions with the Delaware Environmental Institute, the Data Science Institute, the Disaster Research Center, the Gerard Mangone Climate Change Science and Policy Hub, and the Delaware Geological Survey.
