- Each year, the Carroll Center for the Blind helps nearly 1,300 blind or visually impaired children, adults and senior citizens gain the skills they need to live active and fulfilling lives.
- Our Newton campus houses our rehabilitation program, computer training classes, low vision store, and administrative offices.
- The Carroll Center welcomes students ages 7 to 21, who are blind or visually impaired with the possibility of additional disabilities, to participate in a variety of summer youth programs that empower them to develop socially, academically, and independently.
- This individual will oversee the health and safety of summer program participants and perform necessary medical treatment ranging from bumps and bruises, illnesses, dispensing medication, and more.
- The Summer Program Nurse will also be a liaison with parents/guardians, counselors, and summer program staff, as well as review student health information and physician orders, maintain accurate records and logs, monitor student well being, and train staff about basic illness and injury types and related action steps.
