- NATURE OF WORK:Performs a variety of tasks related to food production and food service in a fast-paced environment under the direction of the food service manager.
- Food Service Workers are provided on-the-job training and are expected to become proficient in accomplishing required duties during a six-month probationary period.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepare bulk quantities of food items in accordance with established recipes;Clean and sanitize food service equipment and associated spaces;Set up serving lines and provide high-quality food service;Operate a point-of-sale computer terminal;Communicate with students and staff orally; andAble to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up serving lines and assist in serving food;Maintain portion control standards;Use proper servicing techniques;Carry out cooking assignments and assist in the preparation of main dishes, raw vegetables, simple desserts, beverages, salads, and sandwiches;Operate food production equipment;Lift heavy items such as stacks of trays, canned goods, potatoes, etc.
- Assist in washing pots and pans on a rotating basis;May operate the point of sale; andPerforms other necessary duties as required.
