- The Frederick National Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and operated by Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. The lab addresses some of the most urgent and intractable problems in the biomedical sciences in cancer and AIDS, drug development and first-in-human clinical trials, applications of nanotechnology in medicine, and rapid response to emerging threats of infectious diseases.
- The Research Subcontracts Group provides acquisition support to the National Cancer Institute's (NCI), Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research (FNLCR) as well as operations and specific subcontracting support for the NCI-Bethesda, National Institute of Allergy and Infection Diseases (NIAID) and other related Government initiatives.
- Specifically, the subcontracts team provides pre/post award acquisition and administration for highly complex research programs, scientific services, field trials, and related projects at FNLCR through execution of agreements with third parties, often commercial companies and non-profit research institutions or universities.
- Under limited supervision, the Subcontract Administrator is responsible for activities that span the entire procurement cycle, including but not limited to: preparation of solicitation packages to subcontractors, evaluation of subcontractor proposals, price analysis, negotiation of terms and conditions and subcontract administration.
