- The overall job goals are to assist the center-based, self-contained special education program in monitoring and managing student behavior in the student assistance room, classrooms and throughout the school setting; assist in de-escalating crisis situations; provide support in classrooms when needed; and transport students when needed.
- Previous experience as a program assistant and experience working with children with emotional or behavioral needs preferred
- Willingness to follow through with program behavior management procedures such as time out, physical restraint and after-school detention, including staying after school with detained students and transporting them home (with another adult), when necessary
- Assist in physical management and crisis intervention with disruptive students throughout the school environment.
- Maintain records and collect data for student interventions.
