Duties include: researching and obtaining insurance and other benefits for patients; reviewing and analyzing operations to ensure the protection of patient interests; maintaining fiscal responsibility and accountability of patient Trust accounts; having a thorough understanding of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other insurance programs; administering collection policies and procedures; overseeing charges for patient care and collecting revenue due the State for patient treatment; ensuring insurance premiums are processed timely and patient medical bills are adjudicated promptly; demonstrating professionalism and communicating effectively verbally and in writing to maintain effective working relationships.
