- Under general supervision, delivers speech/language/pathology services through evaluation of patient needs, goal determination and development of treatment plans in accordance with the Maryland Speech/Language Practice Act. Assists with the overall operation of Rehab Services on the Unit.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from accredited college or university.
- Certification of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and a State of Maryland License in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Ability to administer, score and interpret standardized speech, language and cognitive tests in order to delineate patient deficit, establish diagnosis and development treatment plans with progress documentation.
- Implements appropriate therapeutic interventions, progressing treatment plans in areas of cognitive skill development, communication, oral motor function/dysphagia, perceptual function, orientation, psychosocial needs; teaches patient/family/caregiver activities to reinforce therapeutic interventions; recognizes patient distress signals which need follow-up.
