- The Materials and Physical Data group (XCP-5) in the Computational Physics Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) seeks a candidate who is proficient in computer science or computer engineering to support the development and maintenance of the Equation of State API, EOSPAC, and other project-related packages.
- This work will be done as a part of the Advanced Simulation and Computing (ASC) Physics and Engineering Models Equations of State team (ASC/PEM-EOS).
- equations of state (EOS), and physical data libraries including opacities and nuclear cross-sections for use in large-scale simulation codes; additionally, some group members collaborate in the design and analysis of small-scale and integral validation experiments for material models and physical data.
- Knowledge and experience with modern software development processes and tools, high performance computing (HPC), numerical methods, algorithms, and user support.
- Ability to obtain a DOE Q-clearance, which usually requires US citizenship.
