- Under the general direction of the Chief, Office of Planning and Response, a Supervising Transportation Planner (Supervisory), the Senior Transportation Planner has primary responsibility for leading the Emergency Functions Branch, developing, maintaining and integrating sound practices that meets the Department's responsibilities as outlined in the State Emergency Plan (SEP), Transportation Annex to the SEP, and the Department's roles under CEmergency Support Function #1 - Transportation.
- The incumbent will represent Caltrans at Statewide emergency work groups, and directs staff supporting policy research, and program development of Department-wide emergency operations.
- Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Senior Transportation Planner Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
